With an aim to bring researchers, policy makers and practitioners at a global scale, the initiative of the World Congress Disaster Management Summit aims to discuss the critical issues of disaster risk management.

In the last initiative which was the fifth one organised in Delhi, more than 1200 participants from 60 countries attended the event. The drive and ambition to find innovative solutions were discussed over seven arbitrary sessions, 50 joint technical sessions and five special feature events.

WCDM has emerged as the largest global conference on disaster management outside the UN system. Backed by the DMICS, a non-profit organisation in Hyderabad, Telangana which was formed in 2005, it would not have been possible for the people that have over the years shared the space for their decision to have an outright plan for smart disaster management.
